about me

My name is Dan Boswell, and I'm a coder. I'm passionate about technology and making things around me better. I've spent several years writing trading software for the finance industry in C++ and Python. For the last year I've been in an architecture / dev-tools role, helping to build out a platform to enable developers across my company to build different and diverse systems for pricing, risk and trade-flow. The technology stack is mainly Python-based, and includes a NoSQL-style object database, a mini-language for building dependency graphs, .NET and WPF wrapped in Python for rapid UI development, and a web stack built around Flask, Werkzeug and Jinja running on Apache for regular CGI/WSGI apps and using Twisted and ZeroMQ for async-IO.
